Detectives from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) who arrested Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Marry Chiwenga nee Mubaiwa, on Saturday, pounced on her while she was in the bathroom and nak_ed.
This was revealed by Marry’s lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa in an interview with the Daily News on Sunday. Said Mtetwa:
“She was in the bathroom in her bedroom when the men suddenly opened the door while she was nak_ed and told her that she was under arrest.
“They searched her bedroom without saying what they were looking for. She was taken to the police.
“After that, they came back to the house and Marry’s mother who had accompanied her to the police was not allowed back into the house. She had her car parked at her daughter’s house.”
VP Chiwenga has filed criminal charges against his wife for allegedly misrepresenting to the High Court that he had consented to wed her while he was gravely ill and admitted at a Chinese hospital.
Mtetwa further revealed that after her arrest, Marry could not access her medication, with her doctors seemingly afraid of coming to attend to her.
