The infamous machete-wielding gangs detained musician Shinsoman on stage in Chegutu and forced him to sing for their enjoyment for hours, making him sing one song all over again, the DailyNews has reported.
This was revealed by the musician himself who narrated the ordeal to the publication:
“I had a show in Kwekwe with Freeman and all they did was fight. In Chegutu it was total horror. They made me sing for hours. After performing one song they would make me repeat it.”
In late 2018, ZimDancehall musician Winky D could not finish a show at Solomon’s in Kwekwe after machete-wielding thugs threatened to besiege his show. He bolted out from an emergency exit and made good his escape.
The MaShurugwi have headlined for weeks mostly for terrorising people, murder and robbery and fighting with law enforcement agents.
This week, another group of the thugs attempted to overrun a police base in Gokwe North in as they tried to jailbreak for their colleagues who had been arrested the previous day for theft. The 49 thugs from villages in Zhombe and Gokwe hired two kombis and drove to the police base where they were arrested after a stand-off with police.
On 28th December, some machete-wielding gangs killed a police officer at Battlefields near Kadoma in what was apparently a revenge mission for the death of their ring leader in Chegutu a month before.
On New Year’s day in the morning, a machete-wielding trio attacked a registered gold dealer in Mvuma, murdered him and robbed him of US$700 and other valuables.
