FOR a moment, residents forgot about Mzansi’s lockdown regulations.

In their hundreds, residents of Boitumelo in Sebokeng in the Vaal, south of Joburg pounced on an alleged plasma TV thief, on Thursday.

This was after stolen house hold electronics were allegedly found in the man’s home.

Demanding justice, the angry mob paraded the man in the streets of their Kasi, demanding he points out his accomplices in the crime.

The dramatic story began during the early hours of the morning, when a WhatsApp voice note started circulating in the kasi.

In it, a man claims his house had been burgled and several goods were taken, including a two laptops and a music system.

“Morning guys, I got a break-in this morning…my laptops and music system are gone. Should anyone see anyone selling anything, those are stolen items. Please inform me,” said the man on the voice note.

The man was rescued from the angry mob by a quick response from the cops and soldiers.

In shock, the man’s mother collapsed and soldiers attended to her.

Speaking to Daily Sun, resident Nonhlanhla Zibulo (25) said they have had several break-ins, in their kasi but never knew who the culprits are.

“At least we now know who the culprits are. Hopefully the man learnt a lesson and will never steal again,” she said.

This is a developing story, more information to follow…
