Zimbabwe now has 23 confirmed cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) disease after five new cases were registered today. All of the new cases are from Bulawayo and are due to local transmission. The health authorities tested a total of 51 samples today with 28 coming from Harare and the other 21 coming from Bulawayo.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care also revealed more information on patient 18, who was confirmed yesterday. According to the Ministry, patient 18 is a 44-year-old Harare man who arrived from the United Kingdom on April 13. At the time he is reported to have not shown any signs and symptom. He has since been admitted at Harare’s Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital.
