MDC Alliance President Nelson Chamisa has lambasted President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa over his delay in announcing government's position on the future of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) national lockdown.
Writing on his twitter handle, Nelson Chamisa said, "Leadership, planning and timeous communication always key. It is totally reckless and unacceptable to keep the nation guessing on the lockdown until the very last minute. Elsewhere leaders value citizens and give advance notice on any key decisions.
Mnangagwa extended the national lockdown with two more weeks. He said that the decision was made following a review of the situation in all of the country's provinces.
He also said that the decision was influenced by the rise in the number of coronavirus cases recorded in the country.
Zimbabwe now has 25 cases including three deaths.
The extension means that the lockdown will end on the 3rd of May. He said that authorities will continue to monitor the situation.
