Police officer in hot soup after being caught transporting 16 bags of mbanje in police van


Police arrested five suspects for illegal possession of dagga on Sunday.

One of the suspects is a Saps constable at Tsakane police station who used a cop van to transport the dagga.

Kriel police received an information that a police vehicle from Tsakane was transporting an illegal substances.

The cops then found the vehicle in Matla-Power Road and stopped it.

The driver, who was wearing a full SAPS uniform, took out HIS appointment certificate identifying himself as a police constable in Tsakane.

Cops searched vehicle and found 16 sealed bags containing dagga worth R480 000.

They were all arrested and will appear in Kriel Magistrate court on Monday.
