SINGER Tongai “Greatman” Gwaze was yesterday a recipient of Chivi South legislator Killer Zivhu’s extended kind Covid-19 pandemic relief.
The politician, known for bailing out a number of less privileged people, visited Greatman at his home where donated food hampers.
Zivhu also pledged to send the musician RTGS$2 000 every week after learning that the singer was reduced to selling tomatoes for a living.
“I am continuing with my campaign giving out 10 kgs of roller meal to less privileged people during this lockdown period.
“I was touched by Greatman’s story after people told me that he was now selling tomatoes to survive,” said Zivhu.
The Member of Parliament said he will make sure those in need are attended to during this lockdown period.
“I want to thank my partners who are doing a great job in identifying and helping local people who deserve help.
“We will be giving Greatman about RTGS$2 000 for his upkeep every week up until the lockdown is over,” he said.
Greatman who recently got married commended the MP for remembering him.
“I want to thank MP Zivhu for remembering me during this period, God should bless him more,” said Greatman.
Prior to the lockdown, the musician used to showcase his talent for passersby around town.
Reports say a number of people without formal employment are likely to suffer more as a result of the lockdown.
Earlier this week, Hon. Zivhu launched his “Ecocash your Korona to Heaven” campaign in which he seeks to impact on about 20 000 people across the country.
