PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has met with the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) members this morning in the capital.
Led by the POLAD Chairperson on Governance and Legislative Agenda, Professor Lovemore Madhuku, the representation of opposition political parties sought to understand from the President the issue of the alleged abductions of opposition party members which purportedly occurred earlier this month.
The three Movement for Democratic Change Alliance members who allegedly went missing were found two days later along Bindura Road. The three are Cecilia Chimbiri, legislator for Harare West, Joanna Mamombe & Netsai Marova.
“We came to see the President on a very crucial issue relating to the recent abductions, as POLAD we feel very strongly that the abductions must be investigated, we want to get to the bottom of the matter and so we were advising the President that it is important for the nation to ensure that these things are properly investigated through an independent process so that the whole world knows the truth, it is important that we don’t continue to say abductions or no abductions, there must be clarity now on what exactly is happening,” said Professor Madhuku as they emerged from the meeting with President Mnangagwa.
