The wife of MDC Alliance councillor Denford Ngadziore and the couple’s six-month-old baby have reportedly abducted by suspected state agents who were driving a car without number plates.
In a statement posted on the party’s social media channels, the MDCA said Ngadziore’ wife and baby, as well as Allan Moyo and Snaga Lameck, were kidnapped from Ngadziore’s home in Mabelreign.
They were allegedly beaten and then dumped in Dzivarasekwa high-density suburb. The statement read:
"The wife and 6 months old baby of MDC Alliance Councillor, Denford Ngadziore, as well as Allan Moyo and Snaga Lameck, were kidnapped from Ngadziore’s home in Mabelreign by suspected state agents driving a vehicle with no number plates. They were beaten and dumped in Dzivarasekwa."
This comes after three MDC Alliance youth assembly officials, Joanna Mamombe, Netsai Marova and Cecilia Chimbiri were abducted in Harare last month and later sexually abused and dumped in Bindura, Mashonaland Central Province.
The government has often blamed an imaginary third force for kidnapping opposition activists and has also at times accused the victims of faking abductions.
