IT’S not always easy to love thy neighbour and it might be hard for them to love you, too.

That was at play when a Bulawayo woman sued her neighbour for disturbing her peace by constantly encroaching onto her yard.

Ethan Mthupha from Cowdray Park complained that so troublesome was her neighbour Elineth Gambiza that she was not respecting the border separating their houses.

Apparently, her biggest issue was that Gambiza was making fun of her husband and deceased child.

“I am applying for a peace order against my neighbour Elineth Gambiza. This has been necessitated by the fact that she is continuously hurling insults at me.

“Sometime in July when I was outside talking to one of the neighbours, she came and started insulting me with my private parts for no apparent reason.

“She said I was a bad person who was ill-influencing other residents to go against her.

“As a way of annoying me she is also invading my yard and making fun of my husband and our deceased child. I can’t take it anymore hence this application for a peace order,” complained Mthupha.

She demanded the order to be enforced for life.

“This order should also stop her from entertaining my visitors, passing through my yard and shouting at me using vul_gar language,” demanded Mthupha.

Gambiza, however, disputed Mthupha’s accusations.

“I have never insulted her and I don’t have any problem even if the court grants the order since I am not harassing her,” responded Gambiza.

By consent, the presiding magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa granted the order which compels Gambiza to live with her neighbour peacefully by not insulting her.
