LATEST: South Africa’s Mmusi Maimane suggests a good name for Nelson Chamisa’s party

Dutch Reformed Church speaks out as DA leader Mmusi Maimane threatens to drag Mnangagwa to ICC

The former leader of South Africa’s Democratic Alliance, Mmusi Maimane has urged Nelson Chamisa to change the name of his party from MDC Alliance to Change Alliance to allow him to continue his democratic fight.

This came after MDC T led by Thokozani Khupe over the weekend rebranded and changed its name to MDC Alliance, after making claims they were the original MDC Alliance.

Maimane tweeted:

“My brother @nelsonchamisa change the organizational name to “Change Alliance” and keep it moving. Do not allow this to become a stumbling block. People know who is who and what is what.”

Nelson Chamisa is reportedly sceptical about starting a new party because he feels he will be betraying the MDC founding father, late Morgan Tsvangirai.

The MDC Alliance said it will not be changing its name on Saturday after the Thokozani Khupe camp changed its name to MDC Alliance.
