Shameless Thokozani Khupe who was rejected by Zimbos in 2018 returns to Parliament through back door

Thokozani Khupe and President Emmerson Mnangagwa

It is now official!!

Acting MDC-T leader Thokozani Khupe is now the Member of Parliament representing Bulawayo Province.

Khupe appointed herself MP after victimising and recalling MPs with allegiance to the most loved charismatic MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa.

This week, ten more MPs were recalled by Khupe’s MDC-T at the instigation of reinstated national secretary general, Douglas Mwonzora.

Certifying Khupe’s newly appointed role in a Government Gazette, Priscilla Chigumba, who is the chairperson for the poll-governing Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec), said:

“It is hereby notified, in terms of section 39(7) (a) of the Electoral Act [Chapter 2:13}. that persons listed in the Schedule nominated by the MDC-T party to fill the vacancies that occurred among the party list members of the National Assembly and the Senate following the recall of the incumbent members by the MDC-T party on the grounds that they had ceased to be members of that pasty, have been appointed as National Assembly party-list members and Senators respectively with effect from the date of publication of this notice.”

Commenting on the Khupe appointment,Piers Pigou had this to say;

“With no sense of shame, Khupe and her gang usurp parliamentary seats without having secured the votes for them. Zimbabwe ‘democracy’ stinks further into the cesspool.”

Khupe was rejected by Zimbabweans in 2018 elections. She performed dismally in the presidential election in which she polled a paltry 45 000 votes. Her party, MDC-T, failed to win even a single local government seat. She is now causing havoc in Nelson Chamisa’s MDC Alliance while riding on a controversial court ruling. However Chamisa remains the most popular political figure in Zimbabwe as the whole nation loves him.
