The unfortunate boy who was allegedly tormented by a strange worm that emerged from nowhere and entered through his thigh two days after a sexual sojourn with a married woman has died. He was 14.
The aunt of the boy, Nobuhle Moyo, told reporters that the boy died last week on Friday. She said Nobuhle's "boyhood" was peeling off.
"My nephew lost the battle with life. He was always writhing in pain. he was urinating yellowish discharge. His male organ was peeling off. At first we had taken him to a traditional healer in Plumtree but his efforts were in vain. His health deteriorated drastically. Someone advised us to take him to Binga but it all proved futile," she said tearfully.
The aunt said the worm took its toll to an extent that the now deceased failed to eat or drink. She also said the worm attack had intensified. She also revealed that a witch hunter popularly known as tsikamutanda told them that the man who 'fenced' his wife used a deadly runyoka and also cast a spell on the boy's family. She said the witch hunter said as a result some of the family members would soon die too.
"Some family members were angered by that revelation and they did not want the deceased to be buried. However, his uncle stood his ground and finally the boy was buried. Some family members have vowed to revenge. We are living in fear. We are still appealing for the woman's husband to come or tell us where we can locate him We wish to solve this issue amicably," she said.
