TWO LOVEBIRDS were killed in a tragic road accident in Mashonaland Central province this week.
Tsitsi Tazvivinga (24) and Admire Chibakuza (35) died in an inferno after a Toyota Allion registration AFG -3891 they were travelling in hit a tree and caught fire on Tuesday.
Tazvivinga was burnt beyond recognition while Chibakuza was thrown out of the fire.
Meanwhile, five people died on Sunday at Ealing farm, Mvurwi while coming from a funeral in Guruve when a Nissan Caravan they were travelling in veered to off the road and overturned killing three on the spot.
Macron Machipisa (46) of Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Machipisa, Martin Ndoro (82) of Deka village, Hurungwe and Modester Chindamba of Katanga Norton died on the spot while Ever Rupiya and Margaret Kambarami died upon admission at Parirenyatwa group of hospital.
Mashonaland Central province deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Fidelis Dhewu confirmed the cases.
The accidents were due to speeding and police warned motorists to travel at safe speeds.
“We are urging motorists to travel at safe speeds as we are recording an increase in road traffic accidents in the province,” Assistant Inspector Fidelis Dhewu said.
