A twenty-five-year-old man was on Monday dragged to court after he reportedly rapεd his fellow tenant’s daughter.
The suspect, Washington Mahura, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Judith Taruvinga.
He was referred to the High Court for bail consideration as he is facing a third schedule offence.
Prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti alleged that Mahura called the underage complainant into his room and locked the door without her knowledge.
The court heard that as they were in the room, they watched videos on his phone then Mahura began undressing his clothes before he forcibly removed the complainant’s underwear and rapεd her once.
It was only when she screamed that he released her, the court heard.
Mahura was remanded to November 9.
