A Zvimba herdboy has been sentenced to nine years in prison for stock theft.
Rangarirai Blessing, 24, of Jenami Village in Zvimba, was jailed by Chinhoyi Provincial Magistrate Lisa Mutendereki.
The complainant is Moses Muvirimi, (40) of Jenami village under Chief Zvimba.
Prosecuting, Texas Manditsvara told the court that on November 3, Muvirimi was called by a neighbour, one Mai Dhongi, who told him that Blessing was selling a beast at home.
She asked him if he had blessed the transaction, to which Muvirimi said that he had no knowledge of such a transaction.
Thereafter, Muvirimi phoned Maxwell Parwauya, who assisted him in looking after his house while he went to the homestead to establish what was going on.
He went to his homestead and upon arrival, he found the police already there attending to the scene.
He positively identified the beast as his leading to the arrest of the accused.
