A jilted lover with suicidal tendencies has appeared in court accused of verbal abuse.
Samuel Galafu was dragged to court by his baby mama Faith Chipoya who sought a protection order against him after numerous texts messages were sent to her cell phone.
In one of the messages, Chipoya claimed, her ex was threatening to end his life.
According to Chipoya, Galafu is bitter after she allegedly left for another man.
“My ex-husband has been sending disturbing texts to my phone, he is threatening to kill himself over us ending our relationship.
“He accuses me of infecting him with HIV and that I lied about my age after he found that I was older than him.
“He insults me over the phone and once tried to poison our child over our misunderstandings,” said Chipoya.
She pleaded with the court for her ex to be barred from sending the texts.
“I want the court to read him through the Domestic Violence Act if ever I am to find favour with this application.
“He should stop emotionally abusing me,” she pleaded.
Galafa partially admitted to sending the worrisome texts.
“She is still married to me but she moved in with another man and they are occupying the same house I used as our matrimonial home.
“I only shouted at her after I learnt of the relationship and left.
“She doesn’t want me near our children but allows her boyfriend to spoil them instead,” he claimed.
In her ruling, Magistrate Meenal Narotum noted that Galafu had partially admitted to the abuse and granted the protection order.
Galafu was ordered to conduct himself in an orderly and peaceful manner towards Chipoya.
