POLICE are investigating a case in which a Guruve person allegedly murdered a 34-year-old man before dragging him with a rope and leaving him on a footpath.
The man was also reportedly covered with deep cuts on the forehead and nose, with bruises on both hands.
The body was then taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.
Police yesterday confirmed that the issue was still under investigation.
In a statement posted yesterday on the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Twitter page police said:
“Police in Guruve are investigating a case of suspected murder where a male adult (34) was found dead along a footpath in Chimanga Village under Chief Bepura.
“The body had a rope tied around the neck and appears to have been dragged from a bedroom hut, 120 meters.
“Injuries noted on the body were deep cuts on the forehead and nose, with bruises on both hands.
“Blood stains were discovered in the hut. The body has been conveyed to hospital for post-mortem,” reads part of the statement.
Another suspected murder case was also discovered in Nyanga when the body of a 64-year-man was found along the road with multiple stab wounds.
“The body of a 64 year old man was discovered on 10/12/20 along Avilla Chisero Road, Nyanga, with multiple stab wounds on the face, right leg and back of the head.
“The victim was last seen drinking beer at around 0300 hours with a 22 year old man who has since been picked up for questioning
“Investigations into the case are on-going,” said police.
