A 32-YEAR-OLD Belvedere woman yesterday landed in the dock after she reportedly sought to deliberately transmit HIV to her boyfriend.
The well-endowed suspect (32) was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi who remanded her to today for bail application.
The court heard that the two started dating in February and on Valentine’s Day, the accused visited the complainant at his house and they had protected se_xual intercourse on four different occasions.
The complainant then reportedly requested that they get tested for HIV so that they would stop having protected se_xual intercourse and the accused promised to bring self-testing kits on several occasions and appeared to be genuinely forgetting them saying she was eager to get tested as she normally tested herself at work since the testing facility is readily available at her work place.
The complainant had reportedly gone for HIV testing two weeks before and tested negative since he was planning to move in with the accused.
The couple later had unprotected se_x, but the complainant later discovered that she was having affairs with other men besides himself. When they went for HIV tests, she tested positive, while the complainant tested negative leading to her arrest as the state alleges that she had no right to indulge in unprotected se_xual intercourse knowing that she was positive.
Lancelot Mutsokoti appeared for the State.
