Married AFM pastor impregnates teenage virgin

A married 31-year-old Apostolic Faith MIssion (AFM) pastor has been sentenced to perform 280 hours of community service after being convicted of statutory rape.

Pastor Samuel Ndlovu of Chisuma village 4 under Chief Mvuthu in Vic Falls was on Monday convicted on his own plea of guilty to having sex with a young person when he appeared before Vic Falls magistrate Sharon Rosemani.

Prosecutor Listen Nare told the court that sometime in January this year, Ndlovu met the 15-year-old girl and proposed love to her despite being a married man of God. The young girl however accepted the proposal.

In February, Ndlovu asked the young girl to have sex with him and promised to marry her as his second wife, then the girl supposedly looking forward to become 'Mai Mufundisi', agreed to play 'hide my sausage' game with the pastor.

The two went to a nearby bushy area close to the young girl's residence where they had sex, resulting in the girl losing her virginity. The married man of the cloth instructed the girl to go home and not tell anyone about their 'juicy act'. Two weeks later, the two again allegedly had sex at the same place and they did not use a condom.

The matter only came to light in May when the girl reported to her grandmother that she was pregnant and that an AFM pastor was the one who had 'pumped' into her 'honey jar'.

The girl however mitigated for a very light sentence for her 'married lover', indicating that she was ready to get married to the pastor.

"I am an orphan and pregnant. I dropped out of school the time I noticed that I was pregnant and it will be better if you give him a lighter sentence so that he takes care of his child and marries me as he promised. I already has three children with his first wife, but I am willing to be his second wife," the girl told the court.

Magistrate Rosemani sentenced Ndlovu to 12 months in prison. Four months were suspended for five years on condition he does not commit similar offence. The remaining eight months were suspended and commuted to 280 hours of community service at Chisuma Clinic.
