Zimbabwe’s most notorious armed robbers who made it their business to terrorize people, robbing them of cash and valuables have been convicted for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The convicts -Musa Taj Abdul (47) and other gang members — Charles Lundu (47), Rudolf Kanhanga alias Tapiwa Munatsi (29), Tapiwa Mangoma alias Tapa (27), Innocent Jairosi (32), Prince Makodza (31), Carrington Marasha and brothers Liberty Mupamhanga (29) and Godfrey Mupamhanga (27)— have been convicted of illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition after a full trial.
Abdul and his gang were arrested on August 24, 2020 after a shootout with the police in Beitbridge.
Abdul and his accomplices are also facing other armed robbery cases still pending at the courts.
He also stands accused of masterminding a string of robberies that span over two decades.
