A woman from Bulawayo was struck with a golf club on the face after she tried to play peacemaker by restraining her landlord from physically assaulting his wife following a domestic dispute.

Sibusisiwe Dube (49) from plot number 4 situated along Old Gwanda Road paid dearly for trying to play peacemaker in a domestic dispute between an enraged Lizwe Mhlope (32) and his unidentified wife.

Allegations are that on 12 September 2021 and at around 5pm, Mhlope picked an argument with his wife. It is reported that at the height of the quarrel, Mhlope failed to control his temper and started beating her up.

The bashing is alleged to have prompted his tenant to intervene by trying to restrain him from further assaulting his wife. It is alleged that an irate Mhlope then turned against Dube and allegedly struck her on the face with a golf club and open hands.

Dube sustained injuries on her face as a result of the alleged assault and the matter was reported to the police leading to Mhlope’s arrest.
