Controversial musician Rockford 'Roki' Josphats will celebrate his 29th birthday tonight at a potentially explosive event at Beer Engine.
The bash is being hosted by Platinum Entertainment which is under the stewardship of Spencer 'Boss Spencer' Madziya.
A decorated line up of artistes is set to perform at the bash and the list includes urban grooves artistes who have walked the turbulent music journey with Roki.
Names to look out for are Extra Large, Ngoni Kambarami, Sani Makhalima, Mafriq, among others.
In an interview, event coordinator Spencer Madziya said they decided to celebrate Roki's birthday in a lavish fashion as this is in tandem with his achievements.
"Roki is a young man who is one of the pioneering urban groovers. He started music at a time when access to the studio was hard, but he soldiered on and went on to make hits. He also represented the country at Big Brother Africa and we felt it was befitting (that) we celebrate his birthday in style as our way of promoting local artistes," said Madziya.
Roki was born on July 7 1985 and is a proud holder of the 'most Promising Artist for 2003' through the prestigious National Arts Merit Awards of Zimbabwe (Nama).
He made a name for himself as a gifted songwriter and exceptional performer although controversy has dogged him over the years.
The 29-year-old musician who represented Zimbabwe in 2012 at Big Brother Africa (BBA) is reportedly a father of six children he sired with five different women. He is allegedly currently in love with the late Andy Brown's daughter, Ammara Brown and reports are hinting that the two celebrities might get married soon.
