A 38-year old Chipinge man Freeman Sithole is on the run after allegedly shooting his girlfriend four times in the early hours of this Monday.
The woman, 30-year old Shingai Magazi from Panganai Village under Chief Mutema, sustained injuries on both hands and the chest and has been admitted at Birchenough Hospital.
Sithole and Magazi had a misunderstanding over their relationship status, which resulted in the accused assaulting the victim before shooting her while trying to escape.
National Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident saying investigations are underway.
