A TORWOOD man has been rescued from his abusive wife by his employer, Redcliff Municipality, who have offered him alternative temporary accommodation.
Doubt Maringe and his children have since moved out of their home.
They claim they are all victims of domestic abuse inflicted by Maringe’s wife, Sellina Motupuke, who is said to have repeatedly beaten him.
She also threatened to stab him with a knife.
“My wife is abusive, she assaulted me and she always threatens to stab me with a knife.
“She does not want my children at our place of residence, she abuses them and beats them in my absence.
“I was rescued from her by my employer Redcliff Council who offered me accommodation while I solve my issues,” said Maringe, in his application for a protection order.
However, Motupuke denied the accusations.
“He is lying because he is actually the one who beat me on that particular day he has talked about.
“He does not want to help me process our child’s birth certificate and he doesn’t want me to control his children,” she said.
Maringe also wanted to evict his wife from their home.
However, the court could not grant the eviction order.
Magistrate Mildred Matuvi granted the protection order.
