The number of deaths caused by mentally challenged people have become a daily occurrence in Zimbabwe and health sources attribute the problem to lack of drugs for mental patients.
Austin Nhengo of Taruwona Village under Chief Mazungunye in Bikita stoned his father, Mutinini Nhengo (77) to death without any provocation.
The incident which happened this week occurred in the eyes of the deceased’s paralysed wife Constance Svosve who is 67.
Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident to The Mirror.
