A 33-year-old man from Pumula South in Bulawayo broke into a house in broad daylight only to steal two plates and a gas stove.

Chrispen Ndlovu broke into Panashe Gumbo’s house and stole a gas cylinder and plates all worth $7 500.

Ndlovu appeared before Western Commonage Magistrate Mr Shepherd Mjanja last week facing an unlawful entry.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 months in prison, three months were suspended because he is a first time offender and one month to be suspended if he pays $7 500.

He will effectively serve eight months if he manages to pay the money back.

Prosecuting, Miss Melisa Dube told the court that on 22 February at around 9 am, Ndlovu used a steel bar to break the window and took a 3kg gas cylinder and two plates.
