MDC speaks out after being bashed by CCC, urges govt to step up efforts to curb the spread of Covid



The National Standing Committee met yesterday to deliberate over the state of the party in the wake of the just ended by elections, and other issues affecting the country.

The Committee took note of the disappointing outcome for the party in the just ended March 26 by elections. It further affirmed the explanation by President Douglas Mwonzora and party leadership during the Press Conference on Monday 26 March in Harare. As part of self introspection, the Committee came up with a number of recommendations which will be deliberated on and explored further during the National Council Meeting scheduled for Friday 1 April 2022 at Morgan Tsvangirai House in Harare.

The National Standing Committee also took note of the increase in the number of COVID 19 cases in the country. It further expressed deep concern over reported outbreaks in schools across the country and, therefore urged the government to step up efforts to curb the spread of this deadly virus.
