UMHLALI cops in KZN have reportedly received a complaint that a four-year-old toddler died in one of the houses in Ballito on Tuesday, 26 April.
Cops went to the said address, where the mother of the child stated that her child was difficult and troubled her, so she decided to drown the child in a bucket full of water until she stopped moving.
Police spokesman, Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, said: “The child’s hands were also tied with a tape. The little girl was certified dead at the scene. A case of murder was opened for investigation by Umhlali SAPS.”
The 45-year-old woman was arrested and was charged with murder.
She is expected to appear before the KwaDukuza Magistrates Court on Thursday, 28 April.
