A remorseful 29-year-old Bulawayo man from Richmond suburb who expressed regret for his shameful actions that he blamed on drugs committed suicide by hanging himself using a nylon rope in his aunt’s garage.
The incident happened on 4 July and was confirmed by Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube.
“Police are investigating a sudden death case of Keith Sikombela who hung himself in a garage attached to his aunt’s house.
We urge members of the public to share their problems with others or to approach local counsellors, church leaders and other relevant personnel to avoid such cases.
“We also call for stakeholders to come on board and deal with the drug abuse issues.
Some notable effects of drug abuse include loss of lives through suicides,” said Inspector Ncube.
Sikombela was found hanging from the ceiling inside the garage that is attached to his aunt’s house where he was staying.
Police observed that the deceased was hanging from a nylon rope from the ceiling.
It is suspected that he stood on a plastic chair, put the noose around his neck then kicked the chair away.
The body was checked and had no injuries.
Police also found out that Sikombela had been feeling remorseful and had apologised to his father for his wayward behaviour that he blamed on drug abuse.
