A 22-year-old man from Chimanimani is battling for his life at Chipinge General Hospital after his stepfather stabbed him with a knife and left the intestines hanging out.
The incident happened last week under Chief Muusha, Chimanimani. Promise Mutetwa was stabbed by Naison Shuga (62). Manicaland provincial Police spokesperson Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the incident and said Mutetwa was admitted at the hospital with his intestines protruding.
Shuga approached his wife Wongai Chibani who is Mutetwa’s mother and told her that her son was having extra marital affairs.A misunderstanding ensued and Shuga picked up a knife and stabbed Mutetwa several times in the abdomen.
Police attended the scene and Mutetwa was rushed to hospital. Shuga fled the scene and is still at large. Police is appealing for information that could lead to the arrest of the accused.
