A 36-year-old man from Bulawayo was arrested for slapping his wife after she confronted him while he was walking with another woman.
Aubrey Dumisani Mpofu of Fortwell House appeared before Bulawayo Magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa facing a charge of physical abuse after he allegedly assaulted his wife, Sinqobile Mpofu and was remanded out of custody to 28 July.
Allegations against the perpetrator are that on 11 July 2022, at around 7:30pm, Sinqobile was on her way home when she saw Mpofu and a lady walking along Fort street.
She followed them and when she caught up with them, she confronted her husband. A misunderstanding arose and Mpofu assaulted his wife with one slap and hurt her right eye in the process.
Sinqobile did not seek medical attention but went on to report the matter to the police.
