A 15-year-old boy who feared being arrested apologised profusely to the mother of a nine-year-old girl he had ra_ped at his home.

The victim and her sxual attacker stay in Mpopoma suburb and are neighbours. On the fateful day the mother of the victim left her daughter alone at home and went to town. The alleged sxual offender hatched a plan on how to sxually violate his neighbour.

It is said he called her to his family home as he promised to give her sweets. The unsuspecting minor dashed to his home not knowing that her neighbour would turn monster on her.

“When she got there her neighbour invited her to his bedroom and asked her to sit on his bed. After that he carried out the sick attack on her,” said a relative of the victim.

The minor is a grade four pupil at a local primary school and later during that day her friend visited her to help her with homework, but the victim could not.

“She found her sleeping and could not help her. Her friend returned to her home,” said the family member.

The mother of the victim arrived at 5pm and was shocked to find her daughter sleeping.

“Most of the time she used to find her watching cartoons but on that particular day she found her sleeping in her bedroom. Upon asking her why she was sleeping she revealed that she was feeling pains on her private parts,” said the source.

The mother got suspicious and quizzed her on what happened to her.

“She revealed that she was ra_ped by her neighbour and suffered bruises on her private parts,” said the family relative.

The mother of the victim confronted the alleged sxual attacker and interrogated him. It is said the sxual attacker confessed before issuing a grovelling apology begging her not to report the incident to the police.

Bulawayo police spokesperson confirmed the incident. Insp Ncube urged members of the public to report such matters early so as to get counselling and post-exposure prophylaxis within 72 hours.
