A MAN has appeared at the Western Commonage Magistrates Courts for stabbing to death a drunk man who had poured opaque beer on him before groping his girlfriend’s br3_asts and butt0cks.
Panashe Chafungemoyo (19) appeared before magistrate Shepherd Mnjanja facing a murder charge and was not asked to plead.
He was remanded in custody to 30 August 2022.
On the fateful day, Panashe was with his sweetheart at Nketa Park in Mpopoma when Cosmas Ndlovu (29) who was an artisanal miner, and his drinking mate, came upon them.
The court heard that Cosmas grabbed Panashe’s lover by her hand before he started to f0ndle her breasts and big butt0cks.
Things turned nasty as Panashe tried to restrain him but without success.
Tempers boiled over between the pair, forcing Panashe to draw an Okapi knife from his trousers pocket and stab Cosmas in the chest. After stabbing him he fled.
Cosmas clutched his chest and walked for a few metres and fell to the ground as blood gushed from the stab wounds, the court heard.
After about 10 minutes Cosmas started to breathe with difficulty and an ambulance was called to the scene and they could not save his life as he was pronounced dead.
Panashe was later arrested.
