VIDEO: Ex Springboks star Tendai Mtawarira attacked after revealing why he left Zim for South Africa

The recent interview of rugby star Tendai Mtawarira who is also known as The Beast has been met with mixed reactions on social media.

Explaining why he eventually left the country for South Africa, Mtawarira gave reasons that did not go down well with a section of Zimbabweans.

One Ntate Mdluli Ranaka took to social media and questioned why Zimbabweans bad mouth their country.

Follow the conversation below:

He went to the best schools in the land, but according to him he left Zimbabwe because there were a lot of bad things happening, there was a lot of commotion, land grabs & people were getting kicked out of their farms.🤔

What is it with Zimbabweans & bad mouthing their country?

He is not alone in this confusion. There are still a lot of ‘educated’ Zimbos who think taking back the land was a wrong move.

Kwake kuri kuda kunzi good bhoyi ne murungu? This guy so??

My bro @beast_TM I’ve proudly supported your whole career but this I’ll call out. STOP🛑 bad-mouthing Zimbabwe on privileged platforms. Land reform was hectic but è correct thing.

You left Zim for S/Africa for better opportunities. Simple🙏🏾 @kyrossports @mikemadoda @TembaMliswa

It’s his story let him tell it the way he lived it!

So this guy left Zim because land was being taken from whites? Sometimes telling a personal story attracts respect. Land at some point had to be taken back to black Zimbabweans. I dont condone how it was done, but this cld never be a plausible reason why this dude left Zim.
