The country’s largest mobile network operator Econet Wireless has blamed the blamed power outages for the system failure which has resulted in its network going down.
According to the company the system failure was caused by generators failing to kickoff at the Network Operations Centre following a bout of load shedding by power utility ZESA.
In a statement, the company said,
Our engineers are busy working to resolve a network fault that started when generators at our Network Operations Centre failed to kickoff following a ZESA power outage.
The problem has since been isolated and our technical teams are working flat out to resolve the issue.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience this has caused to our customers.
