MDC members of parliament Lynette Karenyi and Tabitha Khumalo have been hospitalized after being beaten by police officers at parliament building on Thursday.
The opposition MPs refused to stand up to show respect to President Emmerson Mnangagwa when he attended the building. They said they regard him as an illegitimate President. This prompted the Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Medenda to ask them to move out but they refused. Police were invited to come and remove them from parliament building forcefully.
