HARARE’s latest supercar, the Lamborghini Urus valued at not less than US$210,000 has hit the road in the northern suburbs of Harare.
The car landed at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport from Europe on a KLM cargo flight on Monday.
It was immediately driven to the northern leafy suburbs of Harare. On Tuesday morning, the car turned many heads in Harare as it zoomed past the CBD.
Powered by a 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine offering 478 kW from 6,000 rpm and 845 Nm of torque from 2,250 rpm, the Urus is Lamborghini’s first SUV since the 1980s LM002.
Lamborghini boasts that the Urus needs just 3.6 seconds to reach 100 kph, and can reach speeds of 200 kph in 12.8 seconds.
It has a top speed of 305 kph. The owner of the car is reported to be the Zanu-PF MP for Gokwe Nembudziya in the Midlands Province, Justice Mayor Wadyajena, although that has not been verified.
Wadyajena has ignored all efforts to verify his claimed ownership of the supercar.
