MDC legislator Job Sikhala on Thursday rocked the social media spaces after his photograph in a stomach-tight waistcoat went viral.
In an interview with the Zim Morning Post Sikhala said he enjoyed the fun and also realised how Zimbabweans follow those who hold public office.
Sikhala, however, said the waistcoat was the work of photoshop.
“It’s good that people talk about their own. It really shows that Zimbabweans follow those whom they hold in high esteem. The surprise only came to realize that I have shut the social media down.
“The picture has circulated more than any trending news for sometime. It exceeded even the time when I was arrested. Although the waistcoat is a photoshop I enjoyed the fun as well. It’s not about allegations of being corrupt or anything negative.
“It’s people who just found light moments under the difficult circumstances under an unmatched dictatorship we are under. So let the people trend the picture,” Sikhala said.
Meanwhile, fashion shops are scrambling to dress the Zengeza west legislator.
According to the DailyNews, Job said, “As it stands there are more than three clothing outlets that have approached me for fashion deals. I cannot name them until we conclude the deals. This is just popularity in a different way.”
“Unlike being popular for the wrong things such as corruption as with others this has resulted in a benefit for me.”
Job Sikhala went viral on Thursday morning after a photo of him wearing an ill filling waistcoat surfaced. Mambo Chicken made an advert out of the social media frenzy and yesterday Job was seen eating Mambo’s chicken in what appeared like a promotional affair.
