The most loved leader MDC President Nelson Chamisa today made impromptu visits to Harare and Parirenyatwa hospitals to assess the dire situation at the country’s national referral hospitals.
He saw despondent patients, demoralised medical staff without basic medical equipment and empty beds as hospitals are not admitting new patients while relatives are withdrawing detained inmates because of the parlous state of national health institutions.
Meanwhile, at a time when Zimbabwe is facing a myriad of economic and social problems, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has brazenly pledged US$1 million to the Global Fund. Mnangagwa made the announcement during his address at the 6th Replenishment Conference organised by the Global Fund Forum in Lyon, France which seeks to raise US$14 billion to fight HIV & TB.
