As long as I’m President of USA, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon: Trump (VIDEO)

United States of America President Donald Trump has decided against further military confrontation with Iran.

Trump said Iran appeared to be standing down following missile attacks on two Iraqi bases hosting US and coalition troops.

He made the remarks in the Grand Foyer of the White House while flanked by the vice-president, Mike Pence, the defence secretary, Mark Esper, and other high ranking military officials in uniform. Said Trump:

“Iran appears to be standing down, which is a good thing for all parties concerned and a very good thing for the world.

“No American or Iraqi lives were lost because of the precautions taken, the dispersal of forces, and an early warning system that worked very well.”

A few hours after Trump’s speech, the fortified diplomatic area in Baghdad, the Green Zone, was hit by two rockets suspected to have been fired by Iraqi militias, some with close ties to Tehran.

Tensions have been boiling over in the Middle East since a US drone strike last week killed the senior Iranian Gen Qassem Suleimani.
