OPPOSITION MDC leader Nelson Chamisa on Monday toured Wilkins Hospital in Harare to assess the medical facility’s preparedness to handle the coronavirus outbreak.
Chamisa was accompanied in his tour by Harare Mayor Herbert Gomba.
The medical facility is owned by the City Of Harare, and works closely with Government to handle suspected coronavirus cases in and around Harare.
Zimbabwe is yet to confirm its first case of coronavirus, with past suspects all turning out negative.
Coronavirus broke out towards the end of 2019 in mainland China’s Wuhan region, and has killed over 3,000 people in that country.
Globally, the pandemic has killed over 6,500 as of Monday, with over 340 having died in Italy yesterday alone.
