The African Union has said that it is monitoring the Zimbabwean situation following reports of continued human rights violations by President Emmerson Mnangagwa's government.
This comes amid arrests of anti-corruption crusaders including Hopewell Chin’ono and 31 July anti-corruption protests convener, Jacob Ngarivhume who leads opposition Transform Zimbabwe.
The president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa has since sent envoys to Zimbabwe to assess the situation.
