Wild cheers as people’s favourite opposition leader Nelson Chamisa arrives in Glen View (VIDEO)

A crowd thronged Glen View Shopping Centre on Tuesday afternoon as people jostled to get a glimpse of MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa who was passing through the area.

This is not the first time Chamisa has been mobbed by cheering crowds when he made an impromptu appearance at a public place.

In September last year police in Murehwa rounded up 15 vendors suspected of having cheered on Chamisa when he passed through the area.

According to Zimlive, Chamisa’s convoy was mobbed by scores of residents including children who were chanting ‘President! President!’ as he returned from the burial of activist Patson Dzamara in Mutoko.

The MDC leader stepped out of the vehicle and took time to talk to some of his supporters.

An admission of guilt form signed by one of the vendors showed that they had been arrested for “obstructing the free movement of traffic and persons” on the Harare-Nyamapanda Road.
