IT never rains but pours for socialite Tinopona Katsande who has of late been hogging the limelight for all the wrong reasons.
First, she willingly put her herself in the public eye in 2012 when she shared images of her battered face on her Facebook and Twitter accounts after she was beaten up by her boyfriend. She attracted mixed attention with some genuinely sympathising with her while others said she deserved the beating. According to Tino, she was beaten up for asking her boyfriend to help her wash the dishes while she swept the house, something which many failed to believe.
A year later, she hogged the limelight when a s*x tape which she featured in was leaked to the public. Before the tape and its pictures were leaked to the public, Tino had already informed her friends on Facebook that a tabloid would leak the pictures and apologised to the country in advance for her immoral behaviour.
The sub-standard tape cost the rising radio presenter who was on her peak in broadcasting her job as her employer, ZiFm, would not have any of her immorality at work and fired her.
This year, she was accused of dating a married man in Vic Falls.
Katsande became famous when she took part in the production of Zimbabwe's best and longest soap opera. Daring, controversial, eloquent and sharp, are the words that could best describe the character of Joyce Huni in Studio 263. The character, which was played by Tinopona Katsande, became popular because of the way the talented actress executed her role before she quit the soap about four years ago.
Her departure from Studio 263 disappointed most of her fans and many should have been wondering what she had been doing until she came back in the limelight as a presenter at new radio station ZiFM Stereo.
She has embarked on private projects in the modelling industry, entertainment, cosmetology and events management.
Katsande temporarily relocated to Johannesburg, South Africa, where she joined the Christ Embassy Christian channel Love World Saturday as the breakfast show and news anchor. She also worked for magazine show Click Africa, until her return home early 2012. In 2013 ZiFM reportedly fired her after her controversial adult video leaked.
