A 38-year-old Gokwe man was on Saturday arrested for killing a suspected cattle rustler.
Fortwel Mhlupeki, together with eight others who are still on the run, stand accused of allegedly killing Emmerson Matine Dube.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest and appealed for information that may lead to the arrest of the other suspects.
“Police in Gokwe have arrested Fortwel Mhlupeki in connection with a case of murder which occurred at a bar at Gababe Business Centre in Gokwe South.
“The suspect and eight other suspects, who are still at large, attacked the victim with logs, axes and spears after accusing him of being a member of a gang involved in cattle rustling in Gavave area in Gokwe South.
“Investigations are in progress,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.
