Details have emerged surrounding the tragic murder of a woman who was killed at a pub in Hopley, Harare.
The victim, Mary Kapuka, was allegedly murdered by two fellow patrons after an argument. Arnold Chapfurika has been arrested and charged with murder, while his accomplice, only identified as Ben, remains at large.
According to reports, on May 15 Chapfurika and Ben were leaving a bar when they got into an altercation with Kapuka. The two men allegedly assaulted Kapuka with their fists before strangling her to death. They left her body at a borehole near Rising Star School in Hopley.
Locals discovered Kapuka’s corpse the next morning at the borehole where they had gone to fetch water. An autopsy revealed that Kapuka died from strangulation.
Chapfurika has been arrested and charged with murder. The search continues for his accomplice, Ben, who police would like to question in connection with Kapuka’s death.
