A sh0cking incident has rocked the Epworth community as a 35-year-old man appeared in court for allegedly killing a reveller who was with his ex-girlfriǝnd at a local bar.
Wenset Charuzika was brought before Harare Magistrate Mrs Yeukai Dzuda on murder charges, but was not asked to plead.
The court heard that on July 8, Charuzika went to Bhagomalo Bar in Epworth and met his ex-girlfriǝnd and the deceased. He tried to win her back by buying beers, but she refused, as she had already been paid by the deceased for lula lula services. An argument broke out, and Charuzika threatened both of them.
Later that night, Charuzika allegedly attacked the pair near Delport Road, hitting them both on the back of the head with an unknown object while they were on way to Muchemwa’s house. They lost consciousness and were rushed to ZRP Epworth, with the deceased being taken to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon admission.
Muchemwa later regained consciousness and received medical attention. Charuzika was arrested following a police investigation and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
