In a shocking incident, an 81-year-old man from Plumtree was taken into custody after being accused of engaging in an inappropriate act with a 19-year-old man. The accused, Gidiyoni Mick Tshuma, appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware and has been charged with indecent assault under Section 67 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 89:23.
During the court proceedings, Tshuma pleaded not guilty and has been granted bail until October 3rd when the trial is set to continue.
According to the State’s representative, Arnold Mudekunye, the incident took place on the night of September 20th at Drums Bar. The victim, who was seeking employment, approached Tshuma. Allegedly, Tshuma promised to offer him a job and invited him to his residence, where he provided him with food and a place to sleep.
During the night, Tshuma slept on a bed while the victim slept on the floor. In the early hours, Tshuma woke the victim and expressed his desire to engage in anal intercourse. He instructed the victim to partially remove his trousers and lie face-down on the floor, to which the victim reluctantly complied.
Reportedly, Tshuma proceeded to rub his genitals between the victim’s thighs until he ejaculated.
The victim reported the incident to the police the following day, leading to Tshuma’s subsequent arrest.
