Minister of Police Bheki Cele revealed during a recent media briefing at Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre in Boksburg that the vehicles used by the assassins responsible for the shooting of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, known as AKA, have been located.

The announcement came as part of a comprehensive update on the outcomes of the ANC national executive committee meeting.

Cele stated that AKA’s murder is one of the high-profile cases being investigated by the police. He assured the public that the investigating team is committed to handling the case diligently. The minister also disclosed that the firearm used in the shooting, as well as the individuals involved, have been identified and located.

Earlier, in September, it was reported that the police had already identified the murder weapon. KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi emphasized that the shooting took place in a public area, involving multiple individuals and numerous phone calls on the night of the incident. Extensive surveillance footage and over 25 cellphones still need to be thoroughly analyzed as part of the investigation.
